With the Tap to Pay feature, you can receive customer payments directly to your phone without a separate payment terminal. Tap to Pay uses your phone’s NFC capability, allowing customers to pay via contactless methods just like with a regular payment terminal. All common contactless payment methods are supported.

Before your company can receive its first Tap to Pay payment, the payment method must be activated. The activation request can be submitted by a user with signing authority for the company.

Tap to Pay will be released for Android phones on October 9, 2025. The update for Apple’s App Store will follow later in October, after passing Apple’s separate review process. You’ll be notified within the Procountor app once Tap to Pay is available. Thank you for your patience!

Tap to Pay Payment in 4 Steps

1. Create a Sales Invoice
Tap to Pay is used to pay a specific sales invoice. Fill in the invoice details as usual.

2. Initiate the Payment
Once the invoice is marked as ready, you can start the payment using the new “Tap to Pay” button.

3. Receive the Payment
The customer brings their payment card close to the phone, just like in a regular contactless payment. If the payment exceeds the contactless limit, the app will request a PIN code.

Once the payment is successfully received, the invoice is marked as paid.

4. Send the Receipt
After the payment is completed, you can send a copy of the invoice (receipt) to the customer using the “Send” button. The invoice is sent via the channel you previously selected.

What Does Tap to Pay Cost?

Tap to Pay payments can be received using the paid version of the mobile app, which includes sales invoice processing.

A commission fee of 1.5% of the payment amount is charged for Tap to Pay payments. These fees are billed via Procountor’s monthly invoice. The most up-to-date pricing can be found in the price list.

What Kind of Company Is Tap to Pay Suitable For?

Tap to Pay is an excellent replacement for a payment terminal, especially when payments are handled “regularly irregularly.” For example, in gig work or mobile jobs, it’s convenient to have your phone (and thus Tap to Pay) always with you, allowing you to receive payments without a separate terminal.

Tap to Pay is used to receive payments for sales invoices created in the Procountor app. Therefore, it’s not primarily intended for cash sales where only a receipt is provided instead of an invoice.

When Will the Payment Be Deposited to My Account?

When a sales invoice is paid using Tap to Pay, it is immediately marked as paid. However, the payment won’t appear in your bank account right away due to processing times by Stripe and the banks.

  • The first Tap to Pay payment will arrive after Stripe’s additional verification, which may take several days or even a week.

  • Subsequent payments are typically received within about seven days.

How Do I Activate Tap to Pay?

Before receiving your first Tap to Pay payment, you must submit an application to the payment processor Stripe. During activation, you’ll enter the required information for Stripe’s KYC (Know Your Customer) process. All required details can be entered directly in the Procountor app.

The application can be submitted by a user with signing authority for the company.

Once Stripe has processed and approved the application, Tap to Pay will be available to all mobile users in the company who have sufficient rights to handle sales invoices. Activation only needs to be done once per company.

Start the activation from the mobile menu under Menu > Features > Tap to Pay.

Information Requested in the Application

  • Business type: (multiple choice)

  • Business details: Basic and contact details

  • Representative details: Details of the person filling out the form, including contact info and ownership shares

  • Directors: Information about the company’s board

  • Owners: Information about the company’s owners

  • Executives: Information about company leadership

  • Bank details: The account where Tap to Pay payments will be received

  • Review and Confirmation: Once all required information is entered, you can submit the application

If “Sole Proprietorship” is selected as the business type in section 1, the form is shortened and sections 4–6 are not required.

Providing Additional Information

Stripe may request additional documentation for the application, e.g., to verify identities. In such cases, an error message will appear in Tap to Pay > Dashboard, indicating which documents are missing. You can attach the requested documents from your phone’s files or take a photo using the app’s camera.

Approved Application

Once Stripe has processed and approved the application, Tap to Pay will be available to all company mobile users who have sufficient user rights to process sales invoices. The activation only needs to be done once per company.

While waiting for approval, note that processing times may vary depending on whether Stripe can handle the application automatically or if manual review is required.

Updating Identification Information

The information entered in the activation form can be updated later as the company’s situation changes. To update the information, go to the same menu location: Tap to Pay > Dashboard. Any changes will be reported to Stripe.
